We believe that lasting interpersonal relationships are based on regular communication and promoting human dignity and equality. We listen and respond to the needs of local partners- be they institutions, groups or individuals. We welcome partnerships that support local project managers meet their goals and support them in creating a lasting positive impact in La Concha. One time donations are welcomed but we are also looking for reoccurring contributions to help maintain lasting change. Supporting us comes in many forms such as sending volunteers, financing project activities, and recommending us. Please email us with your interests and we will match your interests with one of our 15 community project.
We rely heavily on volunteers to support local project managers in meeting goals. Volunteers are individuals and groups working alongside project managers. It is a great opportunity to learn Spanish and develop lasting relationships with locals. Many of our volunteers come back 2, 3, 4, and even 5 times to help out. We ask volunteers to work Monday – Friday 8:00am to 12:00pm. Please take a look at the project description and email us your volunteer form. Currently, we are only accepting volunteers participating in La Mariposa Spanish School packages.

Our internship program offers individuals a change to be part of the panoramic work it takes to run an international NGO that shares space with a Spanish school and eco-hotel. We ask interns to work Monday-Friday 8am to 5pm and some weekends. Interns gain administration experience coupled with field work. Every day is different and each day presents rewarding and educational challenges. Interns support the administration team with day-to-day business tasks of managing volunteers, coordinating project logistics, or whatever may come up while responding to last minute changes. Interns will also help support project managers with tasks that help meet weekly goals. Tasks can include feeding rescued foxes, handing out notebooks and pencils in primary school classrooms, or even painting a mural about deforestation and water conservation . Each element of this job is important to the development and sustainability of each project. We ask interns to be flexible, adaptive and dedicated to the work we do. Lastly, interns should have a intermediate level of Spanish.
